π― TIGER FAMILY UPDATE | WEEK 2.3
Welcome to Week 2.3! π―π October is here, and we have a busy four-day school week ahead! Students will attend school Monday through Thursday. Friday, October 9, is a teacher workday, so students will not attend school.
As we continue through the second six weeks, please help your Tiger stay focused on strong attendance, completing assignments, and asking for support when needed. Every class period is an opportunity to learn and grow!
π A HEARTFELT MESSAGE FROM YOUR PRINCIPAL
I want to clarify my communication regarding last weekβs incident. I misspoke when I used the word βdrillβ in the first communication with you, and I apologize for the confusion this caused. My intention was never to misrepresent what was occurring. In my haste to notify families while managing the situation, I inadvertently used the word βdrill.β I recognize that clear, accurate communication matters, especially when it concerns your childβs safety.
I strive to lead with compassion, care, and as much transparency as possible while protecting student privacy. Thank you to our families for your understanding and for supporting the work we do each day to keep students safe on our campus. I also appreciate those who reach out directly with questions and concerns, versus making assumptions, giving us the opportunity to clarify information and address concerns together. Your trust and partnership matter to me.
To reach me directly any time, please email me at: jnguerraleos@ccisd.us
π INTERSESSION β OCTOBER 12β16
Intersession will take place during the week of October 12β16. Select students will be invited to attend for additional academic support.
Parents, please take advantage of this opportunity if your student is invited. This dedicated time allows students to strengthen their understanding, address learning gaps, and receive support to help them move forward successfully. Please watch for communication regarding your studentβs invitation and attendance details.
π SCHEDULE CHANGES
As new teachers join our Carroll team, we have adjusted some student schedules to balance classes and maintain manageable class sizes. These changes help our teachers provide the attention and support our students need to succeed.
The updated schedules will remain as assigned. We understand that changing teachers can take some adjustment, and we ask students and families to give these new classroom experiences a few weeks before requesting further changes. Please reach out to your studentβs counselor with any transition concerns so we can provide support. Thank you for your patience and partnership!
π SECOND SIX WEEKS β STAY ON TRACK
Please continue checking your studentβs grades and attendance regularly. Encourage your Tiger to complete missing assignments, communicate with teachers, and attend tutorials when needed. Addressing concerns early helps students build confidence and make progress before the grading period ends. School and home working together makes a difference!
β° ATTENDANCE MATTERS β EVERY PERIOD, EVERY DAY
With only four instructional days this week, letβs make each one count! Please reinforce the importance of arriving on time, attending every class, and remaining in class throughout the instructional period.
If you have concerns about your studentβs attendance, please contact Assistant Principal Garza or Assistant Principal Ramirez for assistance.
π REMINDER β NO FOOD DELIVERIES OR DROP-OFFS
Our campus, along with all district high school campuses, does not allow food to be delivered or dropped off for students.
Parents, please do not bring food to campus for your student or arrange for delivery through a food delivery service. Thank you for helping us maintain campus procedures and minimize interruptions to the school day.
π DRESS FOR SUCCESS
Please continue helping us reinforce dress code expectations. Shorts should be no shorter than mid-thigh, excessively revealing clothing is not permitted, and spaghetti straps and tube tops are not allowed.
π SAFE ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL
Please remember that fire lanes are not pickup or parking areas. Use designated parking spaces when waiting for your student so emergency access remains clear and traffic can move safely.
THANK YOU, TIGER FAMILIES!
Your support helps our Tigers succeed. Checking grades, encouraging attendance, communicating with teachers, and participating in campus activities all strengthen the connection between school and home.
Letβs make this four-day week a strong one and take full advantage of the learning opportunities ahead!
Letβs continue to RISE together!
